So yeah, it's been a couple of weeks. Sorry. Been playing a bit of catch-up at work after our unexpected two-day break for the fires. I had two simultaneous deadlines today that I've been working on the last two weeks, and of course I had completely forgotten that I had last Monday off...so I planned as though I had a full 5 days this week. Needless to say, not having that day hurt.
But back to business! Or Boba business, at least. Let's see....last we left off it was post-Halloween. Well, she's just getting bigger and bigger each day...and remember when I used to talk about how she babbled? Oh my goodness! She doesn't babble anymore; she actually talks! And she makes sense! Most of the time! It's totally cute, and it's clear she's really trying to make conversation with me, even though she may repeat the same thing over and over again. For example:
Boba: Mommy, what are you doing?
Me: I'm making dinner for you.
Boba: Din-ner?
Me: Yes.
Boba: Ohhh! (takes a moment) Daddy's at work!
Me (unsure how she made the mental transition): Um, yes, Daddy's at work.
Boba: Um, Daddy come home [unintelligible] have din-ner?
Me: No, honey, he has a show tonight. He won't have dinner with us.
Boba: No! Daddy come home! (repeats this about 5x)
Me (somewhat exasperated): Okay, okay, Daddy's coming home.
Boba: Um, and then go swimming, and then go Papa and Doe's!
Me (eyeing the clock): Uh, actually sweetie, we're not going to go swimming or to Papa and Doe's, it's late. We're going to take a bath and read books instead.
Boba: Read books?
Me: Yes.
Boba: OKAYYYY!!! Read books now!!
Me: No, not right now sweetie.
Boba: Why not??
Me (dumbfounded she actually knows this question): Ummm... because I'm making your dinner!!
Boba: Din-ner?
Me (taking a deep breath): Um. YES.
Boba: Okay. (beat) Daddy HOME!!!
Yep, she's a keeper.
